Boys Boys Boys

It is hard to get enough of them. Not going to lie. But you tell me:

Styling: Michael Stallings, Makeup/Hair: Binky Brown, Photography Assistant: Jason Rolfe, Models: Brita @ Muse Models, Vince Harrington @ DNA, Justin Michael @ Images at Men NYC, Nemanja Lisov, Diego @ U Models Management, Thierry Jean-Bart @ Silver Model Management, Michael Sergio

I have to say this was one of the more amusing shoots I have ever done. I know our lovely model, Brita, and I were having a good day. Male models are such flirts! At one point, I told the guys to look out at the camera as if they were looking at the most beautiful girl in the world, and one shouted back that he was looking at the most beautiful girl in the world. Not going to lie, made me smile.

What is more amusing is that we were shooting at a gay bar: Vlada. Awesome place, check it out! All of my boys were straight, but they still loved the attention they got from the crowd when the bar started filling up. :D

Hoboken

I got the lovely opportunity to shoot in the beautiful city of Hoboken (NJ) this summer for the fall issue of Chaos Magazine. I was one of those arrogant New Yorkers who thought that anything in NJ must suck, but I have to say Hoboken is awesome! I can totally see myself living there. It is beautiful, near the water, and only 30 min to the heart of NYC on the path train. I’m sure you will agree that it is a beautiful place, just by looking at the images. :)

Shoot day was a bit crazy since it was suppose to rain all day. But the fashion gods were looking down on my team and I, as we got perfect weather all the way to the end of the day.

The team was great. I was working with Sila Ozgun (Stylist) and Jamie Haugland (1st Assistant) again and made some new friends: Kyley Ringo (on makeup), Charbel Mousallem (on hair), and Pierce Liu (2nd Assistant). And our beautiful models, two Muse girls: Nina and Petra. Oh and who can forget our furry friends who were my lovely 1st assistant’s pups.

The City of Dreamers

New York City… the city of dreamers….

Different day, same story. I moved here to …. I’m doing …. and …. to get by, but I have this great plan! First I will … then … I have been planning this for years, and there is a need/I’m talented enough to make it… big plans, yet too many people? I’m not used to feeling just like everyone else. But this is also my story. And yes, I like to think I’m better planned or talented or smarter and will make it while the rest spend their life savings to nipple at a dream. But I can throw no stones. I feel for these people; they are some of the smartest, most talented people I have ever met. I want to hear their story and cheer for them. Because, like me, they came to this city because they had a chance, they have a talent or a story to share. Their eyes are wide, their wallets empty, but they have a plan and I wish them all the luck in the world.

In other news: My cat has been literately bouncing off the walls and playing fetch with me for hours while I retouch some sexy new story. He is very cute, even as he attacks my trash can. I wonder if he will let me sleep tonight.

I have lots of new stuff to post. But I think these two portraits suit my mood better:

Vince from DNA

Algis from U Models

Ok, I know it has been crazy long since I updated. So, I’m going to show off two new storys! :D

So, the first story is an editorial I shot ages ago, but it just came out in Disfunksion Magazine. My bro Pierce decided he wanted to do a super awesome hair story that had bald elements in it. I think it turned out pretty hot:
Styling: Terri Dacquisto,
Makeup/Hair by Pierce Rees,
MUA Assisting Aggie Simms
Model: Sarah @ Elmer Olsen

Next, I had a great editorial just come out in Chaos Magazine. The first of many great male stories. I have been getting into shooting boys a lot these days, watch out ladies! I really have found a new love in shooting men! This shoot was a lot of fun running around Brooklyn. I even almost died at one point when I tried to shoot from my assistant’s shoulders and ended up going over only have him catch me by my neck. I’m glad no one got that one on film… oy. :)
Styling: Michael Stallings
Make-up: Natalia – Mirrored Wonderland
Model: Andrew G @ Request and U Models Management
Photography Assistant: William Ross

I’ll post more soon!

Come Hither

Hey Gang!

There is so much going on, it is crazy. I assisted Friday, Saturday and Tuesday, and I’m shooting Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week. Who needs sleep?? But there will be lots more stuff to show you guys! :D I’m starting to shoot boys more too. I think being on Chiun Kai Shih’s shoots are inspiring me to shoot more guys.

In other news, I have a new game plan of remodeling myself. I have a new business card and logo. I’m also learning Dream Weaver in hopes to have a new website!

Finally, I have some new fun pictures for you! My friend Anthony let me shoot at his house. His bedroom is freaking beautiful and worked perfectly for my shoot. The model Annie was very sweet and is now a face of Juicy Couture! She will also be coming out in the new British Elle soon.

Waiting for Spring

Hey Everyone!

Sooo sorry it has been forever. I have been crazy busy. Fashion week has come and gone. The Chunky lens came out! Which is the new lens by the hipstamatic app made after the photographer I work under: Chiun-Kai Shih. It is awesome! We had a new editorial come out in GQ with the chunky lens effects on it that I assisted and retouched (I didn’t do the effects tho).

I have been busy shooting and working on other projects that I plan to announce in a month or two. ;)

In the mean time I’m hoping the snow finally goes away and we can start thinking about Spring. To help that along I want to share some spring images with you. :)

Happy New Years!

Hey Gang,

December was crazy. It came and went without me getting to breath. I got a few shoots in, traveled to Miami for an assisting gig, got hooked up with the Levi’s peeps, and went home for the holidays! I’m excited about the shoots I did this Dec, but I can’t post much until I know if they will be picked up. I should have a new fashion editorial coming out this month tho.

I’m still working for Chiun-Kai Shih. We went down to Miami to shoot an awesome editorial that I will be retouching very soon. I’ll let everyone know when it comes out. I do know that our editorials in Client Magazine are out now. So, everyone should go check them out! When CK and I got back from Miami we immediately had a big shoot at the Levi’s Workshop the next day! It was a great experience and I got to meet a lot of awesome people. I suddenly became part of the Levi’s family. I wish I got to spend more time with them before the Workshop ended. For those that don’t know, Levi’s put together this huge space that was free to use for photographers. Photographers could shoot there, use the equipment there (fancy cameras and lights), and print, all for free! I got to be apart of the last three events and had a blast!

CK and I being us:

Finally, I went home for the holidays. It was good catching up with the people I was able to see. I miss my Maryland peeps!

So, I’m randomly leaving you with a project I did on intimacy. This is the last of the projects I did for my class. The topic was obsession. I realized that I have a large need for intimacy and closeness with someone I trust. I love hands and find them the closest way to connect. When looking for models, I thought of this male model I had recently met at a party (partly b/c I knew he was an actor) and contacted him hoping he had a girlfriend or someone who he was comfortable being very close with. When he told me he had a girl friend who was also an actor I was thrilled, when I found out that she was white it made my day! I had been secretly hoping to shoot a mixed race couple. So.. I leave you with the beauty of touch:

Models: Shoulder Claws and Evangeline Reilly, my perfect loving couple! Thanks guys for making this happen. :)
